History and Development of Beef and Dairy Performance Programs in the United States

Abstract
Today's Dairy Herd Improvement program and Beef Cattle Record of Performance programs differ considerably in maturity. The dairy program is approximately 60 years old, whereas the beef cattle program has been developed within the past 30 years. Let us consider a general chronology of the two programs.
