Abstract
The P1, P2, F1, F2, BC1 (F1 X P1) and BC2 (F1 X P2) of the Cajanus cajan crosses EE76 X H72-44 and Pant A3 X H73-20 were studied for seed yield/plant and 8 related traits. The additive-dominance model was inadequate for all 9 traits in both crosses. Trigenic or higher order interactions or linked digenic interactions occurred only for number of clusters per plant in Pant A3 X H73-20. Additive and dominance gene effects were important for the control of most traits. Additive X additive and dominance X dominance gene effects were more important than the additive X dominance gene effects; duplicate epistasis was relatively more important than complementary epistasis.
