Observations on the occurrence of hip dysplasia in dogs

Abstract

Abnormal development of the hip joint is termed as hip dysplasia and is reported to be a heredity disorder resulting from polygenic inheritance (Brass, 1989). The present study was carried out to note some of the environmental factors that seem to have an influence on the occurrence of the defect and also place on record the incidence in local canine population.
