Abstract

A system with a binomial attribute, initially $\bar{A}$, is subjected to n independent stimuli each of which changes the attribute to A with probability p. The estimation of p from observations on the final state of m such systems is examined. The method is shown to be applicable to the estimation of the probability of transmission of certain diseases.
