Benny Gilbert story

Abstract

On Day 10 of a "Cowboy Challenge" on Facebook, Dino Cornay posted a tribute to Benny Gilbert, along with a picture taken by Dino on Jesus Mesa in northern New Mexico. Benny Gilbert was the son of Harold and Eula Lee Christian Gilbert. Eula Lee Christian was an older sister to Pauline Mary Christian Leighton, who was the mother of Eldin A. Leighton. In other words, Benny Gilbert was Eldin's 1st cousin. Benny died at age 54, according to Dino, and is buried in the Clayton, NM cemetery. He was born in 1946, probably (EAL knows he was about 3 years older than me), so he died in about 1999, 2000, or 2001, depending on the accuracy of these dates. Abstract written by Eldin A. Leighton on 19 Feb 2019.
