Abstract

On 7 Nov 1993, a small group of guide dog breeding program managers met in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, USA. This was the first time most of these people had met each other, and they came together to discuss the possibility of working together to build a computerized database capable of managing phenotypic data collected on young puppies and young adult dogs, some of which were destined to spend their lives working as guides for blind people. Included in the PDF are the surviving documents saved by Dr. Leighton.
