Abstract

- Linear mixed models used extensively for estimation of genetic parameters and prediction of breeding values either using pedigree information or genetic markers. - Generalized linear mixed models (GLMM) widely used for analysis of data following conditional binomial, Gaussian, Gamma, inverse Gaussian, and Poisson distributions. - pedigreemm package in R allows fitting GLMM with correlated random effects. We illustrate the use of pedigreemm using high density markers and pedigrees.
