Heritability of Harness Score: A Test Run

Abstract

The objective of this "project" was to demonstrate the possibility of providing estimated breeding values (EBVs) and estimates of heritability using R, and the package MCMCglmm. Although all I did now was estimate heritability, if only to see how these results agree with MTGSAM. One can get breeding values. but to speed things up, I did not ask the software to provide them, A flick of the switch (actually saying "pr=TRUE" in the appropriate command) and you get them. So I hope you can follow what I did, and begin to see that moving to R and this package may eventually make your job simpler.
