Abstract
Hip Dysplasia is an important condition affecting mainly middle size and large breeds of dogs. It can be defined as a departure from the normal anatomical development of the hip joint. It is well recognized by the veterinary profession and by many responsible dog breeders and owners. It is considered to be a multifactorial condition which can be influenced genetically. the definitive diagnosis is made following radiographic examination of the pelvis even though the clinical history and findings usually give a stronger presumptive diagnosis.
