Chance as a Cause of Changes in Gene Frequency Within Pure Breeds of Livestock

Abstract

Four forces can change gene frequency. They are migration, mutation, selection and chance. A few introductory remarks about how the first three of these apply to the pure breeds of livestock may make clearer the part which chance plays.
