Abstract

Postnatal growth and performance in cattle are influenced to some extent by the course of prenatal development. It is important, therefore, to know what factors affect prenatal development and the degree of variation brought about by these factors. The present study was undertaken as part of a broad project to evaluate the factors that affect the efficiency of feed utilization in cattle. This paper reports only_one phase of this project, the factors affecting length of gestation and birth weight.
